Sage Hills

Sage Hills is a proposed sustainable community development in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. The community is envisioned as a diverse destination integrating education, sports, wellness, real estate and lifestyle components to provide all students, residents and visitors with opportunities for progressive and inspired working, living and learning.

For Sage Hills, the concept of sustainability goes well beyond what we know of sustainable development today. We recognize that the build-out of this community will take decades, and with an eye to the future, our goal is to become a working and evolving demonstration communty for sustainable living. Sage Hills has assembled an outstanding team featuring world leaders in sports business and academy operations led by Peter Johnson, an ex IMG CEO of Sports and Entertainment. Drawing on his vast sports business network and 30 years of experience in playing a central role in building one of the world’s leading sports management companies, he and his team will assist Sage Hills to become a global leader in sports academy operations.

With extensive experience in the construction industry EllisDon - Canada’s second largest construction company – will provide construction management services. EDAW, one of the top destination community master planners worldwide complements this team as do recognized experts in legal (Fasken Martineau), financial and corporate advisory services (Deloitte), and real estate (Sotheby’s).

The Comox Valley is known as a recreation, retirement, and second home mecca with a full range of services including an excellent airport with international air service capacity and Vancouver Island’s only Alpine resort – Mt Washington – serving over 300,000 customers per year and located 25 minutes from Sage Hills. The Comox Valley has a population of 60,000 and unique communities that offer extensive shopping, recreational and cultural activities.
