Leisurescape
In 2006, IAC negotiated a joint venture agreement with Leisurescape — a firm specializing in destination resort, community and real estate development — to provide expertise in planning, rezoning and financing for the development of Sage Hills.
Leisurescape was formed in 2005 to undertake hospitality sector development and to joint venture with selected landowners and developers in packaging viable projects. LeisureScape principals combine expertise in land use, real estate, tourism and hospitality, environment, project packaging, finance and project management.
The firm works with a network of project development specialists in the hospitality investment banking, hotel, destination marketing and financing sectors to meet the requirements of each project. Current project preparation activity includes destination resorts in Arizona, the Dominican Republic and British Columbia.
Leisurescape is headed by Dave Russell (Vancouver), a widely-recognized land development, tourism and hospitality specialist who has provided consulting and development services to public and private sector clients in 25 countries worldwide. A former KPMG Canada Consulting partner, Dave is also an experienced community planner, with a particular sensitivity to ensuring that destination projects contribute to the quality of life in communities where they are located.
